Activity ReportsADAA2016 Asia Digital Art Award FUKUOKA: Award Ceremony and Exhibition2017.3.8

The Asia Digital Art Award Fukuoka (ADAA) is a media art competition organized primarily by Kyushu University, Fukuoka Prefecture, and Fukuoka City, which started in 2001 as a space for discovering and cultivating creators possessing the high-level skills and sensitivity digital content creation demands from Northern Kyushu.

This year, until the submission deadline of November 21st, we received a total of 434 applications from 9 countries. After a strict deliberation, 69 works were selected. The exhibition of this year’s works was held on the 7F Temporary Exhibition Space of the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum over a span of six days and attracted over 800 visitors.

This year marks the 16th year of the Asia Digital Art Award FUKOKA and as a space for high-quality expression of media technology from Fukuoka to the world, it has grown into one of the world’s most competitive media arts competitions. The concept of this exhibition is rich expression of art with an Asian touch using the most advanced and cutting-edge media technology. Besides anticipating new forms of expression making use of artistic sensibilities based on logical thinking, the event also aims to create mutual networks of creators through media art.
