Research Professor Tatsuyoshi Saijo of the Kyoto University of Advanced Science and Associate Professor Tomoko Ohtani of the Osaka University of Arts were invited to give an online lecture on future design and related topics from 14:00 to 16:00 on March 15. The attendees included a total of 31 participants from around the world in addition to members of the University.
In the first half, future design advocate Research Professor Saijo gave a talk on the background to the creation of future design, how future design is done, verification experiments carried out to date, and cases of practical application of future design with local governments.

In the second half, Associate Professor Ohtani, who has hosted art related workshops on everything from cognitive psychology to media arts, gave a discussion on the methods of speculative design and science fiction prototyping, as well as her science and technology squadron workshop initiative.
