The Booklet of the 2nd Asian Design Symposium

The Faculty of Design, Kyushu University hosted the 2nd Asian Design Symposium online on November 13, 2021.

The purpose of the Asian Design Symposium is to create a new academic research field in the Asian region through collaboration among Asian design universities and position the symposium as a hub for education and research in design studies.  We also aim to promote design studies, research, and education and actively contribute to creating a future society in culture, art, industry, and human resource development.

We have produced a booklet that serves as a report of this symposium. In the first part of the report, the participating universities introduced case studies and shared the characteristics of each university on “Sharing of Distinctive Design Education from the Cultural Perspectives of Asian Countries and Regions.

In the second part, titled “Examination of International Collaboration in Design Education and Research,” there was a lively discussion on specific measures for future international collaboration and how to continue and manage this symposium.
